Livestreaming Gives Raceshare Owners Fresh Insight

Newly formed syndicate company RaceShare is planning to attract more people to racehorse ownership
through its use of video and media.

Raceshare will live stream a 40-minute programme on their web site raceshare.com every time one of their five horses runs, and live content will also be broadcast from stable tours throughout the coming year.

RaceShare, who only launched in November, will also keep owners up to date with a regular flow of information on-line, including a blog by their ambassador and television presenter Oli Bell.

Director Lucy Delaney, who has worked for the British Horseracing Authority and Racing Victoria, explains: “We started the syndicate to create affordable opportunities that give owners a new level of engagement.

“The live streaming and other video content we offer makes us unique from any other syndicate and with shares ranging from just £39 to £46 a year it’s easy for racing enthusiasts to get involved as owners for the first time.” Their ‘Race Time’ show will feature a build up to their own particular races, including comments from trainers, and in-race remarks from the team will be followed by detailed post-race analysis.

They were also due to launch their owners’ show before Christmas, introducing another RaceShare ambassador Ross Brierley, a racing broadcaster, committed punter and comedian. RaceShare has five horses in training including a yearling called Treasure Time with William Haggas in Newmarket.

They also have juvenile hurdler Jolly Nellerie – already a winner in France – with Venetia Williams and three proven handicappers. Red Mirage is in training with John Quinn in Malton, while Charlie and Mark Johnston have care of La Pulga at Middleham and four-year-old Scampi is based in the south with Andrew Balding.

The 92-rated Red Mirage was a dual winner for Balding in 2022 while La Pulga won his final start at Salisbury for Harry and Roger Charlton. Scampi, meanwhile, rounded off the year with a tally of three wins at Wolverhampton, Epsom and Doncaster.

“The older horses were all bought from the autumn sales with the big festivals and the big Saturday races in mind,” explains Lucy. “They all have the potential to take our owners to Royal Ascot and other iconic meetings so it’s a very exciting time for everyone involved.”

Share prices in all five horses include all costs for a full year, with the option of continuing into year two. “At such affordable prices it’s a great way for new owners to enjoy the experience and our video content will ensure they never miss out, even if they can’t make it to the races or the stables,” she adds.
